Dare To Be Different to fully unite with FIA Girls on Track
Dare to be Different has today (23 July 2020), announced that it will be fully united with the FIA’s (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile) Girls on Track platform to create one global initiative moving forwards.
Founded in 2016 by Susie Wolff, Dare to be Different’s mission to increase female participation in all aspects of the motorsport industry, has already touched the lives of thousands of girls and young women through its inspirational school and racetrack events and its unique on-line community.
Launched in 2019, FIA Girls on Track has simultaneously introduced girls between the ages of eight and 18 to the world of motorsport at its events in Europe, Central and South America and the Middle East. The two initiatives will now fully integrate and be known worldwide as ‘FIA Girls on Track’.
Dare to be Different founder and FIA Women in Motorsport ambassador, Susie Wolff said: “I am so proud of what we have achieved over the last four years and this new chapter with the complete integration with the FIA will make us even more powerful and give us an even greater impact in the long term. The passion and intent are clear to see. The movement and call to action that Dare to be Different has already created has shone the spotlight on the need for greater diversity in the industry. For our sport to prosper in the long term, we need to provide equal opportunities which will then result in an increase in the number of women involved in motorsport.”
