Honda announces its support of Dare To Be Different at Goodwood Festival of Speed
Honda (UK) has today (29 June) pledged its support of the pioneering Dare To Be Different initiative, introducing Jenny Tinmouth as a Dare to be Different Ambassador in dramatic style – riding a Dare to be Different liveried Honda Fireblade at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
In addition, Honda will provide two liveried HRV vehicles for the year, which will be used to support the many events in the #D2BD calendar for 2017 – another strong endorsement of the burgeoning momentum behind the young charity.
Today’s announcement from the world-renowned FoS took place at the Dare to be Different stand and Jenny (below bottom left), a Guinness World Record and Isle of Man TT lap record holder, was welcomed as a new ambassador by fellow bike star and one of the movement’s founding ambassadors – Maria Costello (below bottom right).
David Rogers, Motorcycle PR Manager at Honda (UK) said: “We are really excited to be able to help this young campaign.
“Racing is hugely important to Honda, both on two wheels and four, and we are always looking for ways to promote equality and provide opportunities. Jenny Tinmouth raced with us for two full seasons in our British Superbike team and she will continue to be involved in 2017, as an ambassador.
“It makes perfect sense for us to build on our relationship with Jenny and integrate with D2BD throughout the season.”
Launched last year by Susie Wolff, in association with the Motor Sport Association, Dare To Be Different has swiftly established itself in the motor sport world as an opportunity to celebrate female talent and encourage and inspire women of all ages and backgrounds to consider the sport as a career focus – increasing participation not only on the track but in all aspects of the industry. The addition of Honda (UK) to the list of partners is another highly positive step forward on its journey.
“I am so proud to see the Honda Fireblade go up the famous Goodwood Hill in the Dare To Be Different livery,” said Susie Wolff MBE. “This is a very special moment for us as we embrace the world of two wheels as well as four.
“I’d really like http://www.cpad.org/index.php/en/information?start=5 to thank Honda for this opportunity and for recognising, understanding and supporting what we are doing with the campaign. We now have two fantastic female ambassadors from the two-wheeled world in Maria and Jenny, and we’re very much looking forward to working with them both moving forward.”
